A Westfield Health cash plan has demonstrated its flexibility after helping to complement the Permanent Health Insurance (PHI) on offer to staff at a housing organisation.
Family Mosaic, which provides affordable homes and housing services to more than 45,000 people in communities across London and Essex, chose the Westfield Flex Health Cash Plan after consulting its intermediary at Redbourne.
Family Mosaic’s Group Head of HR, Tony Hart, said: "We looked for a health cash plan because we originally had a PHI scheme which was very expensive and the policy was increasing every year. We decided it would be better to cut back on that and instead use the money to benefit all staff rather than just a few.
"The Westfield plan has always been popular with staff and staff tell me that their claims are turned around quickly."
Redbourne Intermediary Gillian Haworth said: “We rate Westfield very highly and Westfield’s Flex Health Cash Plan seemed like the right plan to opt for.
"Family Mosaic has 11 other benefits on its flexible benefits scheme, so an option like the Westfield Flex Plan, where the claims and cover period run in line with the company’s own flexible benefits year, simplifies things and is very appealing.
"Health cash plans are very popular particularly in the current economic climate – the fact that people can claim money back for going to the dentists or opticians explains a lot of the high take-up."
Westfield Health launched the Westfield Flex Plan specifically to meet the needs of employers who operate a flexible benefits scheme.
The plan features a comprehensive range of popular cash benefits and services to help employees manage their everyday healthcare, including optical, dental, therapy treatments, diagnostic consultations, access to MRI, CT and PET scanning, a GP telephone consultation service and many more benefits, some of which also include cover for dependent children at no extra cost.
