Westfield opens business continuity centre

Westfield Health, one of the UK's leading health insurance providers, has opened a new business continuity centre in Sheffield.

The office at Dore House Industrial Estate in Handsworth was officially opened by Councillor Paul Scriven with representatives from Westfield and the local business community also present.

Westfield originally purchased the premises at Dore House for storage use - but it quickly became apparent that the building held much more potential.

Jill Davies, Westfield Health Chief Executive, said: "We first planned to use this building to store stationery and plan documentation. But it quickly became clear to us that the size of the building would allow us to make much more of Dore House.

"Over a two year period, we have transformed Dore House by creating a mezzanine floor with a fully-functioning office, which would serve as an alternative location if Westfield's head office on Division Street were to become unusable for any reason.

"We are delighted to have officially opened our new building at Dore House. Westfield is very proud of its South Yorkshire heritage and we look forward to spreading our roots further across the city."

Paul Scriven, Leader of Sheffield City Council, said: "It's great to see another Sheffield business flourishing and expanding in Sheffield. I'm delighted to be helping to open Westfield's new premises and it's good to know that if anything should happen that prevents Westfield from working at its usual base on Division Street, their excellent customer service, care and commitment can continue as normal here at Dore House."
