The 31st Westfield Health British Transplant Games get into full swing today with the first full day of sporting action.
Events will be taking place across Sheffield as the Games begin in earnest, with the highlights of the day including the golf, fishing, tennis and bowling.
From 8.30am, the golfers will be teeing off at Beauchief Golf Course in their bid to claim glory on the greens.
An early start is also billed at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in the city centre, where the volleyball gets underway.
The morning’s line up is completed by the fishing at Crookes Valley Park, the Tennis at the Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club and Canoeing in the Rother Valley Country Park.
The afternoon serves up the children’s and adult’s table tennis at the English Institute of Sport (EIS), starting at 2pm.
Across at Hollywood Bowl, Valley Centertainment, competitors will be pinning their hopes on success in the ten pin bowling.
In the evening, from 8.30pm, the darts event gets into full flight in the Marston Suite at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground.
The Games events are open to everyone and entrance is free of charge.
