Westfield gains national recognition
Westfield Health has strengthened its position as one of the UK’s leading health cash plan providers, receiving national recognition at the COVER Excellence Awards 2009 which reward the achievements of the very best in the health and protection industry.
The Sheffield-based organisation was highly commended in the Group Cash Plans category and a finalist in the Individual Cash Plans category at the prestigious national awards ceremony, held at the Emirates Stadium, London.
In its 90th year, Westfield has gained market share and has seen strong growth in sales of corporate-paid cash plans, largely due to the organisation’s outstanding record of product innovation and its development of groundbreaking plans that have anticipated the changing healthcare landscape.
Jill Davies, Chief Executive at Westfield Health, said: “We are very proud to be highly commended in this category. The unprecedented events in the world economy during recent times have had an inevitable impact on the healthcare market. But, despite this, Westfield has achieved a record year’s income and a net growth, giving us the highest number of policyholders covered in our history.”
Today, Westfield operates healthcare plans for more than a third of a million policyholders throughout the UK and more than 9,000 organisations operate a Westfield plan for their employees.
Jill added: “Significantly, we have been able to achieve higher levels of retention among those policyholders who have changed jobs or their circumstances, which is encouraging. Westfield is clearly bucking the market trends.”
