Fiona flies in to head up Westfield HR department

Westfield has appointed Fiona Lowe as Head of Human Resources and Training.

Fiona brings to her new role a wealth of experience gained from a number of positions within high-profile organisations.

The 41-year-old first began working in personnel for the hotel industry before becoming Assistant Personnel Manager for Swallow International.

She later worked as HR Adviser for BBC News, which saw her looking after 2,500 employees working on political programmes and newsgathering.

Fiona has also worked in HR for transport and aviation company Aviance, a role which was more industrial relations-orientated and meant Fiona was supporting baggage-handling, check-in and control staff.

More recently, she was Regional HR Manager for Birmingham, Luton and Southampton Airports before being promoted to Head of HR, a senior position covering 18 locations including Ireland and Scotland and involved working strategically with the Board on business planning and restructuring.

Fiona said: "I am very much looking forward to assisting in the development of new employment processes and practices at Westfield.

"I’m delighted to be joining such a people-focused team and helping to develop strategies for the future."

Julie Gill, Operations Executive Director at Westfield, said: "We are pleased to be welcoming someone with Fiona’s level and variety of experience to Westfield – her CV speaks for itself.

"Westfield has an enviable reputation not just for customer satisfaction, but also for employee welfare and development, so it is vital we appoint the right person to help us continue to further this reputation. Fiona is that person."
