Paul Shires has been confirmed as Westfield’s new Sales and Marketing Director.
Paul joins Westfield with a wealth of experience in the health insurance and financial services sectors.
Paul was Head of Partnerships for an international health insurance company for six years and was responsible for corporate distribution partnerships and commercial management of private hospitals and other related service providers.
Prior to this, Paul spent 13 years working in banking, where he started as a financial advisor. Following several years training and development he became a qualified corporate consultant, advising on complex pension and trust arrangements. Paul’s first management position was for the bank’s Private Client division where he managed a team of private bankers and financial advisors.
When Paul entered the health insurance market he soon became aware of Westfield’s leading position as a health cash plan provider. He is now delighted to be working with Jill Davies, Westfield’s Chief Executive, who he has known and admired for several years.
Paul said: "Westfield is a highly respected company in the sector and has a great ethos. My challenge is that Jill Davies achieved so much during her time as Sales and Marketing Director that I certainly have a lot to live up to.
"I really feel that it’s a great time to be joining Westfield as there are so many opportunities in the health cash plan market. Westfield is always looking to develop innovative, market-leading healthcare solutions all backed by renowned service excellence. I am confident that our current sales and marketing strategies will ensure that we continue to grow the business.
"One of my first projects has been to deliver our new online consumer brand and product, Health365, which is testament to Westfield’s digital capabilities.
"I am working with a great team at Westfield who are dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate about what they do – I feel very fortunate."
Chief Executive Jill Davies said: "Paul is a fantastic addition to our senior management team and is already making a very positive impact within the organisation."
Paul, aged 37, lives with his wife and two daughters in Thorner, Leeds.
