A national occupational health organisation has addressed the needs of its staff with a highly successful health cash plan from Westfield Health.
WellWork Ltd, which has offices in Lincoln, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Falkirk, Liverpool and the Isle of Man, as well as teams operating in the northwest and southeast of the UK, covers all employees on Westfield’s Chamber Primary Health Plan.
Diane Helliwell, Company Secretary and a Director at WellWork, said: "We initially provided the plan to offer an even package of benefits for our staff and it certainly fills that remit because the plan works in the same way regardless of location.
"What it helps to do, in many ways, is to reduce the postcode lottery that can affect healthcare treatments in some parts of the country.
"The other notable point is that everyone can use the dental and optical benefits to cover the cost of treatment and glasses. These standard benefits alone outweigh the cost of the plan.
"What has been really impressive for us, though, is the quick turnaround on claims, regardless of whether it is for a routine visit to the optician or for something more significant like physiotherapy or an MRI scan."
Westfield Health’s not for profit status was a big draw for WellWork, appealing to the company ethos.
The company employs doctors, nurses and administrative staff to provide pre-employment medicals, sickness absence management, recruitment and rehabilitation advice, and related health and safety services to industry.
Diane added: "Our staff are all concerned with maintaining health at work and we are really pleased that Westfield manages to provide such a fantastic confidential service.
"Providing such a benefit to our employees differentiates WellWork from other healthcare organisations. It is a given fact that public sector health workers do not get this level of provision for their own wellbeing."
