Sarah Gee, Benefits Officer at Toshiba, Plymouth, said: "We have a flexible package of employee benefits here at Toshiba, and we wanted to add to this. The decision to introduce the Foresight Plan formed part of our annual pay reviews.

"The Westfield plan is beneficial for both our workforce and us as a company. Our employees have access to fully qualified healthcare professionals and they receive treatment quickly and efficiently, keeping absence to a minimum.

"Providing these initiatives will not solve all health issues but will help to improve employee relations, improve health and wellness, reduce absenteeism and retain employees. As a reasonable employer, we’ve always taken steps to refer employees to occupational health and chiropractors as appropriate, but Westfield makes its easier and more cost effective. Employees can undergo minimum treatment in the minimum time, without worrying about money.

"Also, it helps us cut costs as a business. Absence can be very costly to a company, especially in the current economic climate, so taking steps to ensure that it is kept to a minimum is crucial.

"Since introducing the plan, we’ve had fantastic feedback from our workforce. They can now rest assured that if they need to visit the dentist or the optician, or get a more serious health worry looked at, they can."

Jackie Taylor, HR Manager at Toshiba, said: "We are delighted with Westfield’s plan. We’d like to think that we are an employer of choice and by providing such a comprehensive health cash plan for all of our employees, we are ensuring that we stand out from the crowd."
