Boston College

"It's been fantastic to see the reduction in staff absence across the college since introducing the Westfield Mosaic Health Plan. Employees have been able to address health problems quickly and easily, and access services they wouldn't normally have been able to access."

Tim Millington, HR Manager, Boston College

Background

Boston College, based in Lincolnshire, employs more than 400 members of staff and has seen its sickness absence levels reduce from 9.8 per cent in 2010/11 to 7.6 per cent in 2012/13, which has been attributed to the introduction of the Westfield Mosaic Health Cash Plan. They work closely with us to help their staff make the most of their health cover.

Challenge

Boston College wanted to promote staff health and wellbeing and needed health cover that would help support their hardworking employees and, at the same time, reduce their sickness absence levels.

Solution

After introducing the Westfield Mosaic Health Plan in 2012, the college has seen a more than two per cent drop in sickness absence as staff have been able to address their health problems more quickly and easily. In addition, more than 70 members of staff have used the health screening benefit, which has identified high risk health issues in some cases.
