Main duties and responsibilities

  • To provide ICT user support to our internal\external customers (Including servers, PCs, telephone system, internet and web functionality, core applications) in person and over the phone so that our internal\external customers can operate efficiently to meet their objectives in a timely manner. This will be achieved by providing support, training, mentoring and coaching to the business.
  • To help manage the day to day running of Westfield’s ICT Support team so our internal\external customers can operate efficiently to meet their objectives in a timely manner. This will be achieved by supporting the ICT Support Team.
  • To ensure backups of all key systems are run and are successful on a daily basis so that Westfield can recover data after a loss or from an earlier time period. This will be achieved by monitoring backup logs each morning and ensuring that new backup media is available to back up onto each day.
  • To ensure the key services on the ICT infrastructure are fully operational in order to minimise any downtime experienced by our internal\external customers. This will be achieved by pro-actively monitoring the key services on a daily basis and allocating calls to the relevant party in the event of any fault arising.
  • Installation, configuration of ICT hardware and software across the business. This will be carried out both in person and remotely to ensure the business has the hardware and software to carry out their objectives efficiently and securely.
  • To assist the Infrastructure team during quiet periods within the support team to proactively manage, maintain and review the business’ technical infrastructure, to include server hardware and storage, client hardware, server and client software, switching, phone systems, wireless systems, physical cabling and ICT based telephony connections. This should ensure that all aforementioned areas are secure, compliant and fit for purpose, and that maintenance plans from 3rd party suppliers are followed.
  • To help develop and maintain the ICT Support standard operating procedures within Westfield Health to ensure they are followed, aligned to best practice but are relevant and appropriate for the business. This will be achieved by regularly reviewing the procedures against other organisations, updating our procedures where necessary, communicating the procedures to the team and providing training, mentoring where required.
  • To ensure the Company ICT hardware asset is kept up to date to reflect any changes so Westfield has an accurate record of all its ICT hardware assets. This will be achieved by carrying out monthly spot checks around the organisation and updating the document when changes are made.
  • Be aware of and follow all company procedures and guidelines. Ensure all documented policies and procedures within area of responsibility are maintained in accordance with company requirements.
  • Be aware of own role and responsibilities as defined in the Company’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP). In the event of the plan being activated, respond flexibly to ensure the continuation of the Company’s business operations as outlined in the BCP.
  • Comply with all relevant legislative requirements, including financial services regulations, employment law, Data Protection and Health and Safety.
  • Support the business to embed the Westfield Code and CORE values.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested.

Person specification

Education and qualifications

Required

  • Formal IT Training sufficient to undertake the role
  • Standard GCSE level education or equivalent

Desired

  • A formal qualification in IT (I.E CompTIA A+)
  • Formal training in technologies currently in place in Westfield to include:
    • Microsoft SQL 2012+
    • Microsoft Exchange 2010+
    • VMware technologies
    • Windows Server 2012+
    • Cisco technologies
    • Windows 10 +
    • Sophos Antivirus

Experience

Required

  • Extensive experience of managing support calls, incidents, problems, root cause analysis and providing workarounds and solutions
  • Experience of managing relationships with third party suppliers
  • Good experience of the technologies currently in place in Westfield to include:
    • Microsoft SQL 2012+
    • Active Directory
    • Checkpoint security technologies
    • Microsoft Exchange 2010+
    • VMware technologies
    • Windows Server 2012+
    • SCCM 2012/WDS/DHCP/DNS (ADD IN)
    • Cisco/Cisco Meraki technologies
    • Windows 7/10

Desired

  • Good experience in Microsoft SQL databases
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services

Required

  • Must be articulate and confident in communicating at all levels both verbally and in writing
  • Must have good skills in Microsoft Windows, Office, Voice/IP Networks
  • Must have the ability to plan, organise, prioritise manage and track numerous concurrent activities to successful outcomes.
  • Must be able to gather, collate, analyse information effectively from a range of sources to present and offer knowledgeable workable solutions
  • The ability to explain technical information to non-technical people
  • Must have the ability to prioritise technical problems and fix accordingly
  • Must have the ability to research technical problems and develop a solution

  • Must be flexible, adaptable, self-motivated and able to work with no supervision
