The British Transplant Games: Day Two
The Westfield Health British Transplant Games will really get into the swing of things today with the first full day of sporting action.
Events will be taking place across Bolton, with highlights including a number of children's events.
From 8.30am, athletes will be teeing off at Regent Park Golf Club in open and adult events, and, an hour later, open and adult fishing events will also run simultaneously at Bradshaw Hall Fisheries.
Badminton will begin at 9:30am at Bolton Arena, which will also host two children's events - the obstacle course and mini tennis, both starting at 10am.
Events for the younger athletes at the arena will continue into the afternoon from 1pm with sportshall athletics, followed by children's ball throw, sport stacking and badminton, all at 1:30pm.
Bolton Arena will then welcome the adults' volleyball at 1:30pm followed by tennis at 5pm, and in between at 2pm adults will take part in a ten pin bowling event at Hollywood Bowl.
Things move up a gear with adults' cycling at the UCLan (University of Central Lancashire) Sports Arena at 6pm, while athletes will be stepping up to the oche for the darts at Bolton Whites Hotel at 8:30pm.
The athletes will also get to unwind and have fun in the evening with social events for children at Chill Factore ski centre and adults at Bolton Whites Hotel.
Anyone can come to watch the sporting events and entrance is free of charge.
The four-day British Transplant Games event aims to raise awareness of organ donation and will see transplant athletes of all ages from across the UK compete in different sports.
