Westfield Health official partner in national eye care campaign
We've been announced as an official partner for the forthcoming National Eye Health Week campaign.
The fifth annual National Eye Health Week will take place between September 22 and 28. Eye care charities, organisations and health professionals from across the UK will join together to promote the importance of maintaining eye health and the need for regular sight tests.
We join a host of high profile names in support of National Eye Health Week, including Boots Opticians, The College of Optometrists, Vision Express and Lloyds Pharmacy.
Our executive director Paul Shires said: “Regular sight tests are essential in order to keep a check on eye health, with experts recommending an examination once every two years.
“At Westfield Health, we can certainly say our optical benefit is one of our most valued, as well as being one of our most claimed.
“We’re really proud to be an official partner in this important campaign, working towards the aim of helping more people to keep their vision at its healthy best.”
The week-long campaign will cover themes including sports vision, nutrition and eye health, as well as the link between smoking and sight loss.
David Cartwright, Chair of National Eye Health Week, said: “More supporters than ever before participated in the campaign last year and we made some significant increases in public understanding of factors affecting eye health.
“With the support of partners like Westfield Health we hope to increase awareness even further in 2014.”
