Westfield Health announces major property move.
We’ve put forward exciting plans today to breathe new life into a prominent Sheffield city centre building as part of our continued business growth.
We’re set to relocate our UK headquarters to Milton House on Charter Row after purchasing the premises last year.
And, as part of the move, we’ve applied to Sheffield City Council for planning permission to reconfigure the main entrance to Milton House, creating a new reception area for the main building, a reception for Westfield Health on the fifth floor and a new customer service function for our policyholders.
Our plans also include:
An outdoor roof terrace
A new office atrium connecting our occupied areas internally
Alterations to the external façade, including the removal of an old public staircase which provided access over Charter Row.
Julie Gill, our Executive Director – Operations, said: “With our centenary approaching, our forthcoming move to Milton House signifies a new era for Westfield Health. This is a really exciting time for us – we have a bold, standout brand and we’re continuing to grow as an organisation, now serving more than 400,000 policyholders across the UK – the highest number in our history.
“Our decision to upsize and move to larger premises reflects our success and we’re thrilled to be a step closer to our relocation with the submission of our plans today.
“Sheffield has been our home for almost 100 years, and our roots are firmly embedded here. Our move to Milton House reinforces our commitment to Sheffield, keeping our headquarters accessible for our customers and playing an integral part in the regeneration of the city centre.”
Our employees have been involved in the planning stages for the new building, with ‘Move Champions’ appointed across the company.
Julie added: “We’re an Investors in People Gold organisation and our brand is built around the ethos of working harder for our customers and our staff. So, by moving to new premises, we’re making real changes to ensure we grow our business and continue to provide our customers with the health cover they need and deserve.”
Once plans have been approved, the refurbishment of Milton House will commence until spring/early summer 2016.
