Westfield Health extends Hospital Treatment Insurance
We are launching a new addition to our fastest growing product line, Hospital Treatment Insurance (HTI).
The award-winning HTI is being extended with a consumer and voluntary employee benefits version, with two levels of cover – Access Surgery and Access Surgery Premier, giving consumers access to private surgery at a price not seen before in the market.
Westfield Health will still offer its corporate paid HTI, and this new consumer version can be used as a continuation product for those leaving corporate sponsored PMI.
The new surgery offering, available from early November 2016, now includes an Outpatient pot of £1,000 and provides patients with a dedicated case manager to take them through the process from consultation and diagnosis, on to surgery and treatment and through to rehabilitation.
Director of Global Business Development at Westfield Health, Paul Shires, said: “This is a very exciting time for us at Westfield Health. We introduced our existing HTI product to the market in 2012 and it has since held a strong market position. This new addition extends the offering further to consumers and corporate leavers looking for affordable and accessible private surgery and medical treatment.
“The NHS continues to face one of its most challenging periods in its history and people are becoming more aware of the long waiting lists for surgical procedures – particularly for non-urgent procedures which HTI covers.
“There are currently 3.1 million people waiting for surgery in the UK and the average wait for the seven most common procedures through the NHS is 13 weeks – the aging and growing population will only add to this pressure.
“Behind these facts and figures are real patients with real illnesses – a delay in surgery means longer periods of suffering for patients.”
The new product, available as an online only product, is for UK residents between the ages of 18 and 79. Cover can continue beyond the age of 79, but no changes can be made to the policy.
For an average 42 year old the premium for Access Surgery Premier, with Outpatient cover and nil excess, is just £31.40 per month, while the more limited cover, Access Surgery, would cost just £20.99.
Paul added “At Westfield Health we believe everyone should be able to get a fast, quality diagnosis and that the journey from the initial diagnosis right through to treatment and rehabilitation should be as smooth and easy as possible.
“We’re proud that our HTI offers this and that we can now extend it even further, meaning that more people can get the treatment they need, when they need it the most.”
