Culture affects two of the biggest HR functions: attraction and retention

Company culture is an integral part of job satisfaction and employee engagement, but there are a few things to keep in mind when trying to drive positive culture change:

  • It’s impossible to manufacture or change culture overnight
  • Culture is never ending and is essentially a journey to where you want to be as an organisation
  • Everybody in the organisation plays a part – whilst it’s set from the top, culture also needs to be built bottom up

As a member of HR, it’s down to you to foster commitment across the board, starting with executive leadership as they set the tone.

You need to make sure that those at the top not only understand your core mission, purpose and values, but most importantly that they believe in it.
