How do I sign up?
Go to walkinglunch.westfieldhealth.com and click the Register button. Provide us with your name, email address, company name and team name (if applicable). You will receive an email from us to confirm your registration.
How many people can be a part of a team?
A maximum of 5 people to each team and a minimum of 2 people.
How do I track my progress?
From the 2nd of May go to walkinglunch.westfieldhealth.com and click ‘submit my steps.’ Simply fill in the form and add your steps from each walking lunch. Once you have submitted your steps you will be able to see how you’re doing against other individuals or teams across the UK.
What happens if I don’t have a mobile device to track my steps?
That’s not a problem. You can take the analogue route and use a pedometer.
Do each participant’s steps have to be logged individually or is it a group total each day?
Steps don't have to be logged every day if it's inconvenient — if you miss a few days you can log them in bulk. The leaderboard is just a running total which you can add to at any time. Individuals can log their own steps whenever is most convenient for them (we just recommend daily so you don’t forget!). Equally, if you have a nominated 'team leader', they can log steps on behalf of their team members.
If I am the person who registered online will I have to log everyone’s steps?
No, each individual can log steps to their team's tally. If you do want to log steps on behalf of someone else however, you can do that too — just input their name and email when you’re submitting them.
Can I record my steps outside of lunch hours?
To keep the competition fair we want everyone to record their steps during their lunch hour. However if you haven’t managed to get out at lunch time then there’s no harm in recording your hourly evening stroll.
What if I move around at work anyway?
We understand if your job involves moving already then your lunch break may be your only chance to sit down. That's good for you! Our campaign is all about changing behaviour for people who are inactive at work, but we don't want to exclude anyone. If you can track a few steps at lunch time, or in an evening you'll still be in the running.
What happens if I register after the 1st of May?
Steps don't have to be logged everyday so if you are registering after the 1st of May it is no problem - if you miss a few days or weeks you can log your steps in bulk up until the 31st of May.
When does registration close?
Registration will close on the 16th May.
If I register my team in the evening or at the weekend when will we be able to start submitting our steps?
Once registered your team name will be added to the drop down list as soon as possible during the working hours of 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
