Donations

Caring For Life provides for those in need, often having no other support in their lives. They seek to meet a person’s needs in a holistic way, and have built up a comprehensive umbrella of support, helping people to adopt a better way of life.

Our donation went towards their Growing Garden project, enabling people who struggle with their mental health or who have learning difficulties to get involved in gardening. They have been growing sweetcorn, strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, runner beans, and also flowers.

KiKa is a Netherlands based charity who funds research into childhood cancer to promote healing and improve treatments. They also support the Princess Máxima Center. As a result of their work, there are increasingly better medicines and treatments, children have less pain during treatments and there is a greater chance of recovery. All ingredients for an increasingly hopeful future for children with cancer.

We sponsored one of our people who was participating in the Giro di KiKa 2022 raising money for this important cause.

This is a charity that supports people with complex neurological disabilities resulting from spinal injuries, Acquired and Traumatic Brain Injuries, stroke, loss of limbs, and progressive conditions (such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone, and Parkinsons' Disease).

They have a Well-Being and Activities Team who deliver activities for the residents, including gardening, cooking, quizzes and days out; our funding was put towards some trips out for the residents. When they held their regular residents meetings, the priority was always “trips out”.

The benefits are immeasurable - to have something to look forwards to and plan is so important for the residents’ wellbeing. They give a sense of freedom and fun, and capturing the day with a photo brings the memory back to life which stimulates more social interaction. A trip out recharges the batteries for residents and staff alike!
