Providing you have the Dental benefit on your plan, we’ll consider claims for dental treatment from a registered dentist who is a member of an approved professional organisation.
We will cover:
- Dental treatment and dental check-ups
- Full or partial dentures*
- Hygienist visits
- X-rays
- Braces and implants if they maintain overall oral health and aren’t for cosmetic dentistry reasons
- Mouthguards or gumshields if they are made specifically for you, with a mould of your teeth and gums, by the Dentist if they maintain overall oral health and are not for cosmetic dentistry reasons
We will not cover:
- Any fees or premiums for dental care schemes, payment plans, subscriptions or insurance schemes, where you pay in advance and receive assessments, maintenance or treatments
- Dental treatment as a result of an accident (see Dental Accident benefit)
- Cosmetic dentistry – general dentistry maintains overall oral health, while cosmetic dentistry aims to perfect your smile’s appearance and primarily focuses on improvement in dental aesthetics in colour, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance
- Prescription charges
- Sundry items
- Non-custom made mouthguards or gum shields
- Exclusions (see General Terms and Conditions)
* We’ll consider claims for dentures if you receive and pay for full upper set, full lower set or both or partial dentures from a registered dentist who is a member of an approved professional organisation. If you need full dentures you can claim up to double the maximum Dental Benefit, but this allowance will be available over a two year benefit period. Your receipt must confirm that full dentures have been supplied.
We’ve made a list of sites to help you find an approved practitioner.
