Smile Assured Dental cover for everyday care and unexpected bills
We’ve partnered with dental insurance specialists, Protego, to offer you the Smile Assured Dental Plan that gives you up to £500 cash back per year to cover the cost of any NHS dental treatment.
Costs, up to set limits, can be claimed back for check ups, treatments, clean and polishes, dentures and more. All for just £12.50 per month.
This means you can keep up to date with your appointments to make sure your teeth and gums are in the best condition possible.

Frequently asked questions
How long can I remain on this plan?
You can stay on the plan and continue to benefit from it for as long as you wish.
When can I start using this plan?
You are covered for the benefits above the day after joining.
I have not been to a dentist for more than two years primarily due to Covid-19. Can I join the plan?
Yes. You will need to see a dentist and get any recommended treatments completed at your own expense, initially. Claims for future visits and treatments will then be covered by your plan.
I need treatment now. Will it be covered when I join?
Unfortunately, we’re unable to cover these situations. We only cover new dental conditions that occur after joining.
I am treated by an NHS dentist. Why would I need a plan?
NHS charges can become expensive. A routine check-up that results in a crown would be £282.80. A filling 6 months later would be £65.20 or a second crown would be another £282.80. With the Smile Assured NHS Dental Plan, you get up to £500 per year to cover these costs. (NHS charges correct, Feb 2022).
How long will it take for me to receive the reimbursement?
All claims will be settled as quickly as possible, usually within 2–3 working days.
How will I receive the reimbursement?
You choose. We can either send you a cheque or arrange a bank transfer.
Claiming is easy. Submit a short claim form to Protego with a valid receipt, either online via the claims portal or by post and receive your money back in a few days.
100% of your dental bill, according to the 3 bands of charges for all NHS dental treatments and up to a generous annual maximum of £500. There are many other dental benefits included. Please refer to the premium and benefits table above.
