Westfield Health gives £20,000 boost to cancer charity

Cancer patients in Sheffield will benefit from an increased support network thanks to a £20,000 donation from Westfield Health.

We donated the sum towards Macmillan’s One to One support project in the city. The project aims to train doctors, practice nurses and other health professionals to ensure they are equipped to give cancer patients the support they need.

Steve Loane, Area Fundraising Manager for Derbyshire and South Yorkshire at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are so grateful to Westfield Health for this generous donation. A donation like this will have a huge positive impact in supporting those affected by cancer and their families.

“With the new training scheme in place, people should receive better support and hopefully have their quality of life improved as a result. None of this would be possible without the donation from Westfield Health.”

Macmillan Cancer Support receives 98 per cent of its income from voluntary donations and sponsors and is the UK’s largest cancer care and support charity.

Our Chairman Graham Moore said: “We’re so pleased to support Macmillan’s new project. They provide a fantastic level of care and support to the people of Sheffield and we know they will continue to make a big difference in the lives of local people.”
