A defibrillator is a medical device that delivers a high-energy electric shock to the heart when a person is in cardiac arrest. This shock can help restore a normal heart rhythm, often being a vital tool in emergency situations.
We have donated over 92 defibrillator units across the UK since 2016 as a way of increasing access to life-saving equipment in public spaces. Alongside the British Heart Foundation, we ensure that all our units are registered on The Circuit, the national defibrillator network. This is so NHS ambulances are notified and can access people quickly to help save lives.
We order and fund defibrillators for sites in need through our giving back initiatives. Here’s our organisation spotlight for some those who have reached out to request a defibrillator.
Penny Brohn UK

Penny Brohn UK is the cancer health and wellbeing charity. We donated a defibrillator unit so they have the assistance that is needed to perform CPR and can react quickly to save someone’s life.
“The Defibrillator has been a welcome addition to the centre. We can support our cancer clients, visitors, and staff with any emergency. Now with fully trained first aiders, they have more tools in their armoury to deal with emergency situations.”
Simon Page, General Manager
Sheffield Foyer – The Guinness Partnership

The Sheffield Foyer offers housing, training, and support to homeless 16–25-year-olds, helping them live independently and move into their own homes and jobs. Having a defibrillator on-site provides reassurance that in the event of a cardiac emergency, we’re equipped to respond quickly and potentially save a life.
“Having a defibrillator on-site at the Sheffield Foyer has made a real difference—not just for our staff and visitors, but for the wider community. It’s a vital resource that reflects our commitment to safety and wellbeing.”
The Hillsborough Social Club

The Hillsborough Social Club is a community hub based in Sheffield. They applied for a defibrillator after one of their members collapsed.
“The nearest defibrillator was fetched from The Loxley Pub which Westfield health had also kindly donated. The paramedics used the defib and it kept our member alive while they stabilised them until it was safe to move them to the hospital. We realised that those few minutes it took to fetch the defib were vital and that is why we applied for our own defib. I have checked on the Circuit and our defib has been collected nine times since it was installed so our community are benefitting from your kind donation.”
Following this incident, all their staff and committee members had the defibrillator training and first aid training so there is always at least one first aider at the club. Their members feel safer knowing that they have a defib and trained first aiders on site.
The Schoolrooms Bradfield Ltd

The Schoolrooms is a hospitality venue in Bradfield. In such a well-visited area, they recognised the need for a defibrillator and reached out to us after they discovered that their device had been taken.
“We are looking to replace the stolen defib from the end of our drive. We recently discovered the secure box had been damaged and the defib taken so we were asking for help in replacing it. With bustling local hospitality businesses, the village is a sporting event central. Whether it be yoga in the village hall, tennis, cricket, rowing on the flask or bowls on the village green as well as, of course, all the surrounding footpaths and bridal ways venturing into the countryside for miles and miles.”
Request a defibrillator
We’re proud to support our local community by donating a defibrillator to the School Rooms. It’s a piece of equipment we all hope we’ll never have to use, but having access to one can save lives. We urge businesses and community groups to reach out if they’d like to request one.
